Hemochromatosis Anemia What Is The Most Common Genetic Disease In The World?

What is the most common genetic disease in the world? - hemochromatosis anemia

I searched and found a few different answers, such as sickle cell anemia, hemochromatosis, thalassemia. I think the answer is, sickle cell anemia, but could not be sure. So here I ask.

Depending on .....

What kind of genetic disease? Between a race / group or population as a whole?

It also depends on where you are looking for ... There are identified over 1000 genetic diseases ... 10-15 are more likely than any other ... together, most of them are very rare.

Sickle cell anemia is widespread, but in reality only African American / Black ... least common among other races. In the United States (according to a site), cystic fibrosis, the most common (5% of the population is infected), another UK website said it was the most common hereditary hyperlipidemia. Another site for Europe that was the most common genetic disorder for the entire European continent, a genetic liver disease resulting in iron overload.

However, another site that simply lists the 12 most frequently () in no particular order, have been found:
* Cystic fibrosis
* Down's Syndrome
* Fragile X Syndrome
* Hereditary thrombophilia
Klinefelter Syndrome *
* Open neural tube defects
* Sickle disease
* Triple X syndrome
Thalassemia *
* Trisomy 13
* Trisomy 18
* Turner Syndrome

Many people think, but is not sure it's a practical answer to your question .... especially when you consider ... "Can have a genetic disease and no medical knowledge to diagnose the problem and record .. .."
